Winona Independent School District (ISD) is located in the northeastern part of Smith County, on Highway 155 approximately three miles north of Interstate 20. The community is between Dallas, Texas and Shreveport, Louisiana. Tyler, Texas, 15 miles to the south. Winona ISD is fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency and is classified as AAA under the University Interscholastic League enrollment guidelines. The district provides pre-kindergarten through 12th grade programs. Widespread community support is manifested in active booster clubs and parental programs. In the school district, community pride and high expectations for educational quality serve as driving forces in the district's quest for excellence.
